Greetings and Blessings. Our theme for 2020 has been "We Are Family". Who knew just how true that statement would be when we began this year! As we have navigated the uncertain waters of a worldwide pandemic in recent weeks and the turbulent waters of rioting and looting in recent days, I think we can all agree, we need family and that's what we are, the PFWB family. And as a family we've made a commitment to be Spirit Empowered, Bible Centered, Mission Intensive, and Purpose Driven.
Regarding Brother Randy Barker, a group of PFWB churches in the Dunn area have established a fund to help the family and have asked that we help get the word out. Recognizing that many of you and your churches have been blessed by the ministry of Brother Randy though Crusader Youth Camp and Heritage Bible College, we are glad to help get the word out. If you would like to contribute toward the expenses for Brother Randy you can make your checks payable to Antioch PFWB and send them to Antioch Church of Erwin, 494 Antioch Church Road Dunn NC 28334.
Speaking of prayer requests, if you, as a PFWB minister, or a member of your immediate family has an urgent prayer request, feel free to pass it along to me and I'll gladly pass those requests along through this email list.
Campmeeting & General Conference
Several have asked about our annual campmeeting, whether or not we will be able to hold it this year due to the Covid crisis. At the current time, there is a ban on mass gatherings at least through the end of June. We do not yet know what that will look like by late July. Our General board actually meets next week on Tuesday and at the top of our agenda is to discuss and decide what to do about campmeeting and General Conference. Pray for our board as we deliberate and decide what is legally permissible and what is the safest option. As soon as the board makes a decision next week, we will notify you.
COVID-19 & the "New Normal"
I think we can all agree that this worldwide pandemic has made an impact on our churches that will be felt for some time to come. In most every segment of society people are beginning to talk about the "new normal". What will life be like post COVID-19. The church will also have to grapple with this. When the Coronavirus pandemic first hit, we here at the Resource Center said we were going to do three things; Connect, Pray, and Serve. We have worked hard throughout these past few months to stay connected with you through every medium and platform available, to lead you through various prayer initiatives, and to serve you in any way we could - Connect, Pray, Serve. When most all of our churches ceased holding public worship gatherings, we made it our number one priority to help our churches make the leap to online and drive up services in ways that were both legal and safe. Then, when the restrictions on public worship gatherings were lifted, we quickly started providing information and ideas for how to return to your sanctuaries, again in a way that was both legal and safe. Now, the big question many of our churches are facing is, what will be the "new normal" as we return to our sanctuaries and a somewhat normal routine. We want you to know that, just as we were here for you when you made the shift to online services, and just as we were here for you when you began to return to your sanctuaries, we are here for you now to help you sort of restart or relaunch as an even healthier church in this post COVID environment. Feel free to reach out to our team. Let us direct you to resources that can help your church in the days ahead.
