“LET’S TALK” TOUR – Beginning in January, I’m going to be traveling across the denomination to sit down with small groups of PFWB pastors and ministers just to talk, well, just to listen! I want to hear from you. One of the primary responsibilities of a leader is to accurately define reality. For me to do that, I need to invest some time with you, our pastors and ministers. So, I’m planning to line up informal get togethers all over Eastern NC just to sit and talk with whoever wants to show up. We’ll grab a cup of coffee at McDonalds or a biscuit at Bojangles! Listen up for details on the dates, times and locations. Let’s talk!
20:20 VISION – NEW DAY DAWNING – I’m excited about the future of our organization and the vision the Lord has given me. The church I see is a life-giving church; a church that breathes new life into our pastors, a church that comes alongside our pastors and trains, motivates and equips them to breathe new life into their congregations, a church that helps our churches in turn breathe new life into their surrounding communities – a Life-giving church. I’ll be unpacking the vision in more detail at the Healthy Church Conference on Saturday, March 25, 2017. I hope you’ll join us!
YOUNG LEADERS HANGOUT – Also in January, I’m introducing something I’m calling “Hangouts” for young leaders. One of the most valuable assets any organization has is its next generation. Our youngest pastors, ministers, and leaders are the future of the PFWB and I want them to know that we care about them, their ideas and their ideals. So, early in 2017, I’m planning to start sitting down with our youngest pastors & ministers, those 35 years and under to begin mentoring them as a spiritual father of sorts. All you PFWB pastors & ministers 35 years of age and under, listen up for details about the Young Leaders Hangouts. Let’s hang out!
FROM THE GENERAL SUPERINTENDENT – NEW YEAR/NEW YOU – With the arrival of a New Year comes the opportunity to begin again … a hew year, a new you. What better way to begin a New Year than by seeking God? We are designating January 8-28 as a time for our ministers and our churches to seek God through fasting and prayer. Never have we seen a time when our nation, our world, and our church were in greater need of a fresh outpouring of God’s Spirit. I hope you’ll make this a priority and join with us in some form of fast coupled with prayer January 8-28, 2017.
